Unity  In The Community

Join us for a day of live entertainment, food, free health screenings, fellowship, and family fun! This year’s celebration also included a rope skipping demonstration by the Bouncing Bulldogs, ice cream from Maple View, a martial arts demonstration by Mr. Mark Purefoy, singing by Kenneth Dula, and a yard sale to benefit the Rogers Road Community Center. We hosted voter registration services, fingerprinting and fire safety information by the Chapel Hill and Carrboro Fire Departments, and demonstrations of healthy food preparation. Over 500 people attended! This annual event occurs the third Saturday in April, 11 AM–3 PM, rain or shine.

Partners for Unity in Community include: St. Paul AME (the event’s founders); Habitat for Humanity; Justice United; EmPowerment, Inc.; Veggie Van; the Episcopal Church of the Advocate; the Marian Cheek Jackson Center; Piedmont Health Services; United Church of Chapel Hill; Faith Tabernacle Oasis of Love International Church; Blue Ribbon Youth Leadership Institute; the Chapel Hill/Carrboro Human Rights Center; Phoenix Place Homeowners Association; the Grape Arbor Development Corporation; and the Towns of Chapel Hill and Carrboro.
